2013 Sheridan Animated Films

The computer animation program at Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning is well known.

Michael Hirsh, CEO of Cookie Jar, refers to Sheridan as the Harvard of animation colleges. Most recently, Animation Career Review named Sheridan as No. 1 among the top 100 animation schools in the world.
Sheridan’s Animation degree students come from all over the world, and after graduation they go to work on Academy Award winning films at Pixar, Dreamworks, Cookie Jar, Cuppa Coffee, Studio B, Nelvana, Corus, Electronic Arts, and other giants of animation and gaming.

As one aspect of MNM's community support, we will be showing examples of excellent short animated student films before the main feature for the next eight screening dates, one short film per evening.

Here are the 8 films that we have selected.  They will be shown in this order.  After each is shown in the theatre, a link to the video on Vimeo will be added so you  can see it again.  Note the "Click here".

The descriptions of each video are the words of the student.

My first short film, a 3D animation made as my final project on my 1 year Computer Animation short course at Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, Canada.
It's about a happy clown named Elidi that comes out of a pop up book and she meets the sad marionette in the corner of the old study room desk. Elidi means "The Gift of the Sun".
A very heartwarming story made to make you all smile and happy.  Enjoy : )

March 17: The Last Key - Di Wang - 2 minutes

I am originally from China. After I got my bachelor’s degree in engineering in 2005, I emigrated to South Africa.       I landed in Canada as a new immigrant in 2012. I applied to the Computer Animation program at Sheridan College and finished my studies in 2013.

March  31: Brillo - Dhruv Joshi - 1 min 45 secs

A short film made in the second semester of Digital Character Animation program at Sheridan College.

"Brillo" means Shine/Glow in Spanish language. It was an intense pleasure by going through each process of the making of my short film. It is an inspiration from my personal life and the great short of Pixar, La Luna. I got a huge bunch of advice and support from all my faculties at Sheridan. Took 4 months to make it :D
